More Information on our Gait Analsyis
All our Gait Analysts are Chartered Physiotherapists and runners. They understand biomechanics and injuries and they will explain to you in detail what is happening with your legs as your feet hit the ground on each step. You can also view the comparison side by side with your bare feet and your running shoes.
If you decide to buy a pair of running shoes during the gait session, that's fine. You are more than welcome ot test out what we have in stock in our shop but Our goal with the Clinical Gait Analysis is primarily to help you run properly and prevent any injuries and to help diagnose why you might be suffering from an injury like shinsplints or ITB etc.
All patients are body marked during the analysis and then receive a printed report with specific exercises and stretches to do plus a recommendation for styles of shoes from a database of over 1,800 styles. The Physio will also discuss the findings with you and advise you on whether you might need orthotics or if the exercises and stretches will suffice.

Aside from using the video camera system we also use the footdisc to check the shape of your feet and we do a full biomechanical examination with an injury questionnaire which further helps determine why you might be having problems and also the best design of shoe for your body type.
At the end of the analysis you get a full print out with specific strengthening exercises and stretches that will help you with any injuries you currently have based on your gait. This is particularly useful if you are about to embark on a new training regime as these exercises and stretches are taylored to you based on your biomechanics and gait and they will help prevent any injuries that you might be susceptible to.
Each session can take up to 1 hour or longer for the full analysis and you should come prepared to run.
Bring your old running shoes as well, and wear bikini bottoms or tight shorts as you will be body marked right up to your buttcheeks.
You must make an appointment for a Clinical Gait Analysis session.
